PART ONE, the interior
At today’s industry event “Color Rules,” held at the beautiful Schumacher showroom/retail store on East. Blvd, our Sherwin-Williams rep summed up the 2026 season by affirming “Color is back!” After several years of careful neutrals and grays, color has indeed regenerated.
See photo above: a recent renovation transformed dated oak cabinets and tile countertops to a fresh, modern kitchen with painted cabinetry, quartz-look countertops, updated flooring, and new fixtures. The cabinet color you see is Sherwin-Williams Autumn Orchard … yes, a smoky purple! A year ago, no one would have opted for purple. It’s complemented by S-W Colonnade Gray for trim and perennial favorite Snowbound for walls.
