How to spice up your space

Easy tips for a late summer refresh

If you’re like most people, you’ve been spending a lot of time inside! Which means your same old décor might be feeling a bit drab, as this hot summer season wears on.

Here are a few easy, affordable tips on how to add spice to your space:

  1. Time for a new fruit bowl. My latest find (pictured) adds cheer while providing a decorative function. Mix it up! Throw in some tomatoes and dried chili peppers.
  2. Incorporate spicy jewel tones, echoing the richness of summer fruit colors while welcoming the season’s upcoming transition. One of my recent finishing touches to a client’s guest room was a garnet table cloth runner
  3. Add a black and white checked gingham tablecloth for a summer picnic look indoors, with a bowl of spicy red peppers atop for a fun pop.
