How to solve the color scare problem

Hiring a certified Color Consultant zaps stress and mistakes, especially in a new house

While moving itself isn’t the most fun activity, a new house presents new possibilities, such as a change in color. However, many folks who don’t want all-white or gray walls are scared of making the leap to color. The solution: hire a certified, affordable Color Consultant for a sophisticated, personalized interior without the guesswork.

The above image is a coordinated four-color palette for clients in Northern California who expanded to a much bigger house, and have two kids, two dogs and two cats. The goal was to achieve a sophisticated look, but with durability in mind. They are happy not only with the results, but also with how much money they saved with my Sherwin-Williams PRO+ Trade Partner Discount!

The steps to a beautiful color palette are simple and easy:

  1. We start with a personal consultation and brief questionnaire.
  2. After looking at my Sherwin-Williams color resources, we determine a color palette based on your preferences. I’ll order 12” x 12” Sherwin-Williams samples of related hues you can stick on your walls to see how the colors look in natural light. This is always fun, because it helps determine the right colors, avoiding costly and frustrating mistakes; some whites can actually look a bit yellow once they’re up. Pinks that look pale in small color chips can appear more saturated when you see them in large samples on walls.
  3. Finally, we’ll determine how much paint to order, and which type for which area of the house based on traffic flow and wear-and-tear. Because I am a Sherwin-Williams PRO+ Trade Partner, you’ll receive my paint discount, which will instantly save you a lot of money no matter how small or big your house is.
